The structures on which sister chromatids attach to microtubules are __________.

1. kinetochores
2. centrioles
3. centrosome
4. chromatin

Homework Answers

Answer #1

*Kinetochores* are structure on which sister chromatids attach to microtubules (kinetechores are disc shape proteins found in centromere of chromosome where microtubules are attached during cell division. i.e. in mitosis and meiosis.

Centrioles are tubulin contain cylindrical shape organelle found in cell during cell division.

Centrosomes are organised structure of microtubules during cell division.

Chromatin is nothing but less condensed form of chromosome it's form during cell division and mainly found when nuclear envelop is disappeared, where chromosome found in nucleus.

Assume that a drug is developed that prevents the prometaphase stage of mitosis from occurring but does not prevent any stages of mitosis prior to prometaphase from occurring nor does it interfere with any part of interphase. What will be the immediate consequence of this drug? 1-DNA replication will not happen so that each chromosome will contain a single DNA molecule. 2- The chromosomes will not be able to condense. 3- Sister chromatids will not be present. 4-Spindle microtubules will...
