A.) What specific type of microscopy would be best at visualizing the different cellular structures of a bacterial cell (e.g. cytoplasmic membrane and cell wall)?
Plasma membranes and cell walls are very thin and fine structures and can't be visualised by conventional light microscopy techniques.
Electrons microscopy is used to visualise these structures. Electron microscopes have maginification of 100,000 x and uses electron beams to illuminate the cellular structures. Using these electrons beams instead of light, high magnification and low resolution power is obtained. Electron microscopy is of two types Scanning electron microscopy ( SEM ) and Transmission electron microscopy ( TEM ).
