What is the shortest phase of meiosis?
I think its either Anaphase I or Anaphase II but I am not sure. Could you also explain why?
Shortest phase of Meosis- Metaphase I
The bivalent chromosome align on the equatorial plate. The microtubules from the opposite poles of the spindle attached to the pair of homeologos chromosome.
A bivalent in metaphase I consists of four chromatids and 2 centromere.
Spindle fibre are made up of protein tubulin .
Number of chromatids per chromosome is 2 in both metotic and meiotic metaphase. But number of chromatids per chromosome is different in Anaphase 2 in meiosis and 1 in mitosis.
