Question 9. Calculate the mass of plant extract required to make a 1.0 ml solution of 300 ug/ml. Give your answer in microgram (ug)

Homework Answers

Answer #1

To make a solution of plant extract of required concentration 300 micro gram per ml we need to calculate in the following way

required concentration = 300 ug/ml in 1 ml

required concentration = 300 ug/ml x 1000 in 1 liter (=1000 ml) = 300 X1000 X 10-6  gm in 1 liter

3 X 10-5 X 10-6 = 3 X 10-1 gm per liter =  0.3 gm per liter

so, to make a solution of 300 ug/ml, the required amount of plant extract to dissolved will be 0.3 gm or 300 mg in 1 liter.
