Why is gram-negative cell easier to disrupt by sonic oscillation than a gram-positive cell?

Gram negative bacteria, has an outer layer of peptidoglycan. There are three parts that are covalently linked. The gram negative bacteria contain two layers of peptidoglycan that are thinner, whereas, the gram positive bacteria has a single layer of thick peptidoglycan. Sonicatoin would only be effective on smaller scales, as ultrasonicwroin would be involving cavitation. As a result, the cell wall gets disintegrated sooner in the gram negative bacteria as compared to the gram positive bacteria. High intracellular pressure will only be contained by the protection of the cell walls, which is only the peptidoglycan.
