Would evolution in metapopulation lineages play a greater role in speciation due to hard or soft allopatry? why?
Metapopulation is defined as the group of population which are separated by means of spaces. There are two types of allopatry:
* Hard allopatry: It means there is found a physical barrier which don't allow any of the individual to cross the physical barrier. In this case, the gene flow does not occurs between sub population. That's why mating is found in between the demes of the individual of sub population. Overtime, there are high chances of new species creation by speciation as compared to the soft allopatry.
* Soft allopatry: The ecological separation is found between the two sub population. There is found flow of individual betwen the population. That's why it takes more time to speciate the population.
