Answer #1

High Performance Liquid Chromatography. it is an improved form of column chromatography. In this type of chromatography instead of solvent being eluted from the bottom by gravity, high atmospheric pressure of around 400 atm is applied. the column is filled with small silica particles and and the solvent is non polar. polar compound in the mixture is poured into the column which will stick for longer time to the polar silica as compared to the non polar compound. thus the non polar compound will pass more quickly from the column as compared to the polar one.
