Answer #1

Warfarin:

It competitively inhibit the enzyme vitamin K epoxide reductase complex 1, which is an essential complex for the activation of vitamin K in the body. By this mechanism warfarin will deplete functional vitamin K and thus reduce the synthesis of active clotting factors.

Antibiotics can interact with warfarin to increase the risk of bleeding through the disruption of intestinal flora which is responsible for the synthesis of vitamin K. They also inhibit the cytochrome P450 enzyme that metabolise warfarin.

Increased intake of leafy green vegetables can lower the action of warfarin, because these food is rich is vitamin K and there is greater chance for promoting the blood clotting.
