Answer #1

Answer :

True.

Rarely autoimmune response can mimic type 1 hypersensitivity clinically.

Autoimmune responses are type 3 hypersensitivity.

Immunologically there can be overriding features in type 2 and type 3 hypersensitivity reactions.

Overlapping or mistaken symptoms with type I hypersensitivity and type 3 hypersensitivity are more pronounced in arthus reaction, following repeated bee stings. Chills, fever, rash and urticaria are overlapping symptoms.

But this will be revealed soon as type 1 hypersensitivity is an acute condition and type 3 can be sub acute or chronic.

Also symptoms wont be relieved with treatment for type 1 hypersensitivity.

In an autoimmune response, the healthy cells and tissues are destroyed, because the body’s ability to recognize itself is not working or malfunctioning. This results in the patient’s major systems malfunctioning and not able to function. The pathology involves T cells and autoantibodies that create the autoimmune diseases. An example is Type I diabetes. What happens in this situation?
