Question

Define Signal divergence Signal convergence

Define

Signal divergence

Signal convergence

Homework Answers

Answer #1

In the concept of signal convergence during the cell signaling pathway when two different signals produce a single response inside the cell to be signalled.

Eg. The muscles are stimulated by aldrenalin and by the nervous system also both of the stimuli leads to the release of calcium ions.

Signal divergence means that the signals produce by a single stimuli/ligands can diveege and can stimulate a variety of the effector cells causing a wide array of responses.
