It was known that material can have in any of the state of matter solid liquid or gas but now researchers have found that potassium on applying high pressure and temperature forms a interlinked crystal lattice structure that can be in both state simontaneosly.

Upto 20k potassium elements are simulated and these structures are seen and under right conditions half dozen of elements including bismuth and sodium can also show this property.

And they are in chain melted state and have interlinked crystal lattice properties
