what inferences can you make about relationships between different sequences and organisms
Different DNA sequences are studied to find the evolutionary link between different organisms. Theses sequences contain specific set of amino acids which code for different genes. For two organisms of closely related species or two organisms within same species have similar set of amino acids sequences in their DNA sequences. In contrast, two species from two different phylum should have different set of amino acids in their DNA sequences. So when we ascend from species to kingdom in a taxonomic ranking, the difference in DNA sequences of each organisms will increase. That means, they have a distinct genetical and evolutionary background. So by analyzing the DNA sequences, we can determine if two organisms are closely related or not.
