Recommend a treatment plan for Mariyam’s allergy, discussing the pharmacological effects and mechanism of action for your choice of therapy with all possible factors which might affect her response to the drug. 1) The drug X blocks both alpha and beta adrenergic receptors. It's pharmacologicsl actions due to alpha receptor blockade include the following,

• Vasodilation
• Broncho constriction
• Decreases mucus secretion

Pharmacological actions due to beta receptor blockade include the following,

• Decreases heart rate and increase in cardiac contractility
• Constriction of bronchioles
• Lipogenesis

The possible uses of this dug include treating high blood pressure. Contraindications include ashthma, heart block, congestive heart disease, and liver disorders.
