Draw out the reverse complementary structure of the following nucleic acid. Would you expect to find this sequence in RNA or DNA? Why? Explain why DNA is the preferred molecule with which to store genetic information. GCUAAU

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The reverse complementary structure of the sequence ie.

GCUAAU would be

CGATTA

WE Will find this because this given sequence is of Rna as tere is Uracil in the sequence in place of thymine. And the reverse complementary structure formed will be of the DNA

DNA is the preferred molecule with which to store genetic information BECAUSE use DNA Is more stable than the RNA because of its double helical structure And the DNA is repaired easily as compared to the RNA because DNA has thymine in its nucleotides as compared to uracil which is a fragile compound.

Which of the following is an accurate statement regarding the relationship between primers and nucleic acid synthesis? During DNA replication, primers are used to initiate DNA synthesis, and these primers are incorporated into the final daughter strand products. During DNA replication, leading strands are synthesized by DNA polymerase III without utilizing a primer. During DNA replication, every Okazaki fragment synthesized by DNA polymerase III is elongated from a separate RNA primer. Primase catalyzes the de novo polymerization of DNA. Thymine...
