1) Roots : roots were necessary for surviving on the land. Roots absorbs the water from soil & anchors the plant.

Xylem : xylem is necessary for transporting water because osmosis was not beneficial anymore.

Phloem : phloem is necessary for transporting food & nutrients.

Pollen : acts as the male gamete & for performing fertilization in the absence of water.

Chloroplasts : shields from ultraviolet light.

Cellulose : provides vertical support for the cell.

2) Giving a flower has many meanings. It could be because of love, gratitude, remembrance, support, apology or even could be just a thoughtful act.
