Sarcoma and Carcinoma both are types of tumor formation as a result of cancer. Sarcoma is caused in the connective tissue which encompasses fat cells, bone cells, muscle cells, deep seated tissue and blood vessels. On the other hand, carcinoma are caused on the lining of tissues or organs, such as kidney, lungs.
Among these two types of cancers, Carcinoma is very common and is used as a common term to classify different types of cancers, whereas, sarcoma is uncommon.
Example of sarcoma are: Osteogenic sarcoma of the bone and chondrosarcoma.
Example of carcinoma are Head and neck cancer, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
