Cytokinesis is the process of dividing cytoplasm into two parts and formation of two daughter cells. Cytokinesis takes place into two different processes in plant and animal cells. I

n plant cell

In plant cell phargmoplasts are formed at the equitorial plate and start to form a cell plate in the middle of cell. And this cell plate divides the parent cell into two daughter cells.

In animal cell -

In animal cell cytokinesis takes place via cell furrowing. Cell furrowing is a process which takes place by invagination of plasma membrane from all side to devide cytoplasm into two equal parts.
