edwardsiella tarda what will be the results with the same test said above? I need help with distinguished them
Enterococcus faecalis is a gram positive bacterium that causes the nosocomial infection and urinary tract infection. if it is treated with shaeffer-fulton endopsore stain it produces green coloured endospors due to the presence of melachite green. the malachite green penetrates into the walls of spores that produces the green colour. where as Edwardsiella tarda is the grams negative motile and facultative anerobe. this is non spore forming bacteria that usually causes acute or subacute or chronic bacterial disease in some species of fishes. due to the absence of spores, it produces the pink or orange colour due to the presence of safranin which binds to the lippopolysacchride layer of the gram's negative bacteria.
