Describe in detail how picornaviruses carry out RNA synthesis

Describe in detail how picornaviruses carry out RNA synthesis

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Picornavirus are found im mammals and in birds. They represent a large family of small, cytoplasmic, plus strand RNA viruses. It doesnot have a lipid membrane.Their plus stranded RNA is function as mRNA after enter into the cell .The mRNA encodes RNA dependant RNA polymerase. This plyumerase makes complementary minus strands of RNA and this helps to make more plus srands .RNA dependant RNA polymerase are the central players in the life cycle of RNA viruses. The RNA polymerase of these viruses use VPg as as a primer for both RNA minus and plus strand RNA synthesis. These enzymes enables to accomodate the primer protein for RNA synthesis.
