Why do we predict that more males will be effected by sex-linked traits than females?

Answer #1

Genes that are found only on the X chromosome are known as sex linked traits.Females have two X chromosomes while males have only one X chromosome. When the trait will be a recessive trait, then the males will need to have only one recessive gene to express the sex-linked trait while females would require two recessive genes for traits to be expressed.Females can be carriers and normal but males will always be affected with the trait and this is why more males will be effected by sex linked traits than females.
