List all sources of reduced coenzyme Q.

List all sources of reduced coenzyme Q.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

These coenzymes are basically a group of quinone required for proper growth of an individual. Present on two forms reduced and oxidized one to maintain the redox buffering of the cell. Ubiquinol is well established as reduced Q10 (coenzymes). Other prominent sources are given below:

1.Meat (muscular part almost all type)

2.Liver of goat or lamb

3.Fishes specially oily one

4.Almonds and Walnut

5.Fruits (specially oranges), sesame seed

6. Vegetables (Cauliflower family and spinach also)

The standard reduction potential for coenzyme Q is 0.045 V, and the standard reduction potential for NAD is –0.32 V. Determine the theoretical number of ATP molecules that can be synthesized by the energy liberated from the oxidation of NADH by ubiquinone. The Faraday constant, I, is 96.48 kJ/V·mol. ΔG'° for ATP synthesis is +30.5 kJ/mol.
