Answer #1

When there are phenotype variation due to mutations, some phenotype perform better so these individual are fit and transfer that trait to their offspring and selected by natural selection.

Some phenotype are doesn't perform good so eliminated by natural selection .

As some phenotype are eliminated, some are selected with good phenotype so it moves toward formation of new species.

Long necked giraffe were selected over small necked as leaves on tree were at higher height so smaller necked giraffe die and lonk necked survive and their offspring also increase their number.

So long necked giraffe species formed by natural selection.
