1. Lyme disease is a tick-borne illness caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi.

2. Lyme disease causes a rash in bull's eye pattern, and other symptoms just like flu i.e. fever, chills, headache, fatigue.

3. There are three stages of Lyme disease

- early localized

- early disseminated

- late disseminated

Above mentioned bull's eye rash is considered as 1st stage of infection.

4. In the severe stage of this disease, it affects the heart results in irregular heart rhythm. It also affects the nervous system leads to facial paralysis or meningitis.

5. A blood test should be done for the diagnosis of the disease but the primary diagnosis is by observing the symptoms.

6. This disease can be completely cured if diagnosed on time and medication on time.
