Keystone species is a species which has a disproportionate effect on other species within the system . Keystone species is a dominant predator which absence allow a prey population to explode and decrease in rest diversity.

Key stone species play a role deemed vital existence of the species which share home. Without key stone species ecosystem can be different and even can exist.

So key stone species are very important for ecosystem.

The example is the otter urchin kelp interaction is an example of a trophic cascade. Other examples is bison, prairie dog etc . This are key stone species because they have a great empact on their ecosystem.
