Answer #1

A child weighs 26 kg and is 115 cm tall. The adult dose of the medication is 30 mg. If the medication is available as 30 mg/5 ml. what volume of medication should the child receive?

Child weight = 26 kg

Tall                  =115cm

Adult medication dose is 30 mg

Medication is available as 30mg/5ml

Here we can see that child weight is 26 kg

But adult weight would be approx. 52 kg that will be the double weight of a child with 26 kg.

If the adult receive dose is 30mg/5ml

The child would take a half dose

So, the dose will be 15 mg/2.5ml

a child weighs 26 kg and is 115 cm tall. The adult dose of the medication is 30 mg. If the medication is available as 30 mg/5 ml. The volume of medication should the child receive 2.5 ml.
