What describes when some, but not all, cells in the embryo harbor the desired genomic edit?

Answer #1

The process that describes when some of the cells in the embryo harbor the desired genomic edit is Gene therapy or Somatic Genome editing. When genetic changes are being done to somatic cells, not germline cells of the embryo, the way this is done termed as gene therapy. This is done to get desired traits, results, features in the embryo the way individual want to. It is a expensive, time consuming and elaborate process which takes careful observation through each process. This is kind of human genome editing process in which we make changes according to the way we want specific genes to be expressed in a individual. As genes are responsible for the phenotypic variation, therefore we act on molecular level to induce changes. There are many ways in which we can do gene therapy- CRISPR, microinjection etc.
