If I replace the yeast ISW1 protein with that from Drosophila (fly). What affects would I expect on spacing of nucleosomes in yeast?
If the ISW1 protein from the drosophila change or alterate the structure of nucelosome. ISW1 is an imitation switch will act on the yeast as nucleosome splicing enzyme proteins.
This ISW1 protein of drososphil is homologous to the yeast ISW1 as well as ISW2.
ISW1 and ISW2 activity of both yeast and drosophila function same as sapcing and disruption.
ISW1 of yeast has nucleosome stimulated ATPase activity and ATP dependent nucleosome disruption activity as well. ISW2 of yeast has ATPase and ATP- dependent spacing sapcing activity.
But ISW1 and ISW2 of yeast activity can be done by the ISW1 protein of yeast alone.
Hope it will helpful to you. Thank you
