Option 3rd is the correct answer. Benificial microbes provide some benefiths to the host but they also get benefitted. For example some bacteria helps in the absorption of vitamin B12 in human gastrointestinal tract and they get shelter within the host. Pathogenic bacteria never provide benefit to the host rather they get benefitted from the host and cause disease to the host.

All microbes are neither beneficial nor pathogenic. Many of the bacteria found in our gut are benificial up to a limited population. We cannot tolerate a pathogenic microbes rather the definition of pathogenic microbes is: The microbes which causes a disease in healthy person.

Pathogenic bacteria never helps host to utilize food sources, which they are not normally able to use.
