Show your work and explain this.

Jim suffers from achondroplastic dwarfism an autosomal dominant condition for which he is heterozygous and albinism an autosomal recessive condition.  His spouse is homozygous normal for stature but she is heterzygous skin pigmentation.  Provide the genotypic and phenotypic ratios for a cross between these two people.

Answer #1

Answer-

Since achondroplasia is Autosomal dominant it can be expressed in homozygous dominant and heterozygous conditions.

Albinism is Autosomal recessive so expressed only in homozygous recessive condition.

Let dominant alelle for achondroplasia = D

Recessive normal allele = d

Dominant Normal allele for skin color= A

recessive allele for albinism = a

If this helps please give it a positive rating thank you!

Tallness (T ) in snapdragons is dominant to dwarfism (t ), while red (R ) flower color is incompletely dominant to white (R' ). The heterozygous condition results in pink (RR' ) flower color. The genes for these traits occur on separate chromosomes. A dwarf, red snapdragon is crossed with a plant homozygous for tallness and white fowers. a) Determine the genotypes of the parents. b) Determine all the types of gametes each parent can produce. c) Complete the Punnett...

In Drosophila melanogaster (the common fruit fly), the allele for long, normal wings is dominant over a recessive allele for short, stubby wings called wingless. An autosomal dominant condition causes deafness in people. However, 40% of people who are known to have at least one copy of the dominant allele have normal hearing (no deafness). Additionally, the severity of deafness varies between individuals with the condition. Some people have complete deafness, some people moderate deafness, and some people only have mild deafness. The occurrence or not of deafness in people who have at least one dominant allele is an example of: Codominance Epistasis Expressivity Penetrance...

Wing size in Drosophila results from a pair of X-linked partially dominant alleles. LM produces long wings and Lm produces miniature wings. When both alleles are present in the heterozygous condition, medium-sized wings are produced. A female fly with miniature wings is crossed with a male that has long wings. a). What are the genotypes of the female and male flies described above? What are the genotypes of the gametes that each fly makes? . Blue eyes and inability to roll the tongue are recessive traits in humans.     Brown eyes and tongue rolling are dominant traits.     Illustrate the F2 generation of two people: one who are heterozygous for both traits. Let B stand for brown eyes and b stand for blue eyes, R for the ability to roll the tongue and r for the inability to roll the tongue. Simple Dominance with 2 genes A gene in cats causes them to be black (dominant) or brown (recessive). A second gene causes cats to be agouti (have stripes on their hairs) or non-agouti (solid colored hairs). If you did a dihybrid cross between two black haired agouti cats, what fraction of the offspring would be expected to have each phenotype? If a dihybrid black agouti cat mated with a brown cat that was heterozygous for the agouti gene, what fraction...
