1. What is “DNase I hypersensitivity” and how is it relevant to gene expression?
2. What is “Histone H3K27 acetylation” and how is it relevant to gene expression?
1. DNAse I hypersensitivity indicates the region of chromatin that are sensitive to cleavag by DNAse I enzyme. When this particular region of chromatin interacts with DNAse I enzyme loses its condensed packing and exposed to transcription factors to resulting into expression of the gene in that particular region.
2. Histone H3K27 acetylation indicates acetylation of DNA packaging protein H3 at 27th lysine residues which is associated with the higher activation of transcription. Thus, acetlation at this particular site leads to expression of gene in that region.
