Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer =

Most reabsorption, including water, nutrients, and electrolytes takes place in proximal convoluted tubule (PCT) part of the nephron.

The function of kidney is formation of urine:

this process completed in three main steps: filteration, reabsorption and secretion.

filteration takes palce in glomerulus capsule.

The reabsorption is the process of absorption of water , nutrients and electrolytes from the glomerular filterate back into the blood.

this process occur in tubules of nephron.that is in proximal convoluted tubule, ascending limb, distal convoluted tubule & collecting duct.

But most of the reabsorption takes place in PCT.

In PCT, 70% water, glucose -100%,amino acids -100%,electrolytes like as sodium 70%, phosphate 70%, calcium 70%, magnesium 30% are reabsorbed.

hence correct answer is PCT.
