RNAi

RNA interference is a molecular biology technique that is used to inhibit the transcription or translation of specific genes by the help of RNA molecules. This is an example of exogenous gene silencing in which miRNA or micro RNA are used.

RNA are the product of gene transcription and the small RNA molecules like miRNA, small interfering RNA (siRNA) employ enzyme complexes to degrade the messenger RNA. This would decrease their activity by inhibiting translation. This process happens as a part of the post-transcriptional activity.
