In the film, the Lorenzo's Oil has a component ‘erucic acid’ that has adverse affect. Doctors however warned about the use of this oil but Odones did not consider that. Odones statements are considerable for why he agrees with using Lorenzo's Oil. In his statements, he considered competitions with rivalry companies, and lack of funds.

The people are in the film support the use of oil because it shows quick response but even the bad effect occurs to some people, other people do not consider it. On the other hand, they support because it cures the heart problem.

Some nurses have no objection to use the oil on patients because they only need salary. They only support doctors and do not object them. They even did not stop using of oil while still observed the bad effects.
