Certain bacteria and saprophytic fungi are chemoautotrophs which derive nutrition from dead and decaying inorganic matter and releases energy for the organism to use and synthesise organic compounds from carbon dioxide or say fix carbon dioxide using this energy , called as chemosynthesis .
