"Splice" is a Canadian Sci-fi horror movie which is based on the biotechnology. In this movie, geneticists Clive Nicoli and Elsa Cast attempt to create a new species of animals for medicinal use by grafting (splicing) the DNA of humans with several animal DNA. Although they were successful the new genetically modified creature developed inadvertently and posed threat to the career and life of these geneticists.

This movie tried to highlight the possible ethical issues concerned with gene cloning technologies which is an important area of research in biotechnology. Scientists and the public are always curious to know the possibilities of biotechnology for the welfare of mankind. However, scientists must be extremely cautious while performing innovative experiments. This message was clearly shown in this movie.
