What is the ecological role (niche) of Coprinus?

Coprinus is a small genus of fungi that would be forming mushrooms. There were large species in the genus Coprinus in which there were agaric species where there was autodigestion of the lamellar for releasing spores. This is a culinary mushroom which is found in the field as well as woods. This has traditionally been used in Chinese medicine for treating isles as well as for improving digestion.

It also acts in mediation of immuno modulatory activity. It also possesses anti androgenic actives and it inhibits cell proliferation of androgen dependent pros-trate cells along with inhibiting androgen receptor mediated activities.
