What are the three types commonly used genetic markers to perform positional cloning?
Ans . The 3 types of commonly used genetic markers to perform positional cloning are following :-
1) RFLP (Restriction fragment length polymorphism ) :- These can be used to map interesting genes act as positions from which these genes can be cloned by positional cloning.
2) SSLP (Simple sequence length polymorphism ) :- These are used as genetic marker with polymerase chain reaction(PCR) .These marker are used for positional cloning in Arabidopsis thaliana.
3) SSR ( Simple sequence repeat ) :- These are rehashing sequences of 2-5 base sets of DNA . It is a short of Variable number of tandem repeats (VNTR).
