Answer #1

Hypothesis about honeybee: Honey bees are responsible for about 75% of pollination that occur naturally.

This hypothesis can be tested by the following experiment,

Two square land plots are taken for this experiment. Similar kind of vegetation is present in both the plots. One of the plot is covered with seives that prevent the entry of honeybees while the other is kept open. Honey bee colony are placed nearby at equal distance from both the plots. That two places are followed up for a year and the total number of new offsprings present in both the blocks are compared.

The results would be more number of offsprings in the plot that was kept open than in the plot that was covered preventing the entry of honeybees.

Come up with a question regarding the feeding behavior of slugs. For example, you might ask, “Do slugs have a color preference in the foods they eat?” Make sure your question is testable with the materials and the amount of time available; your options for slug food will be limited to what plant/fungal materials you can find from walking around campus. State your hypothesis (should be something other than color preference). Hint: See p. 1 for a description on what...

Look inside your refrigerator or kitchen cabinet/pantry where you keep your food. Look at the fruits, vegetables, meat, cereal boxes, pasta boxes, canned foods or look at your garden, your backyard or any natural environment for inspiration and elaborate a question. You are provided with the following dataset. Come up with a research question and make a prediction (hypothesis). Label each of x and y with an appropriate variable name relevant to your hypothesis. If you want, you can add a new variable to the data such as gender, age, etc, to make your hypothesis interesting however it's not mendatory and it won't lead to additional credits. Use SPSS to perform the following. Clearly state your hypothesis. What is the shape...
