Analysis of your patients's specimen just revealed the presence of cells containing a cell wall. Discuss the type of microbe(S) that could be causing the infection at hand.

Further analysi showed the presence of a nucleus and 8OS ribosomes. Discuss how this changes your hypothesis regarding the type of microbes causing the patients infection

Final biochemical analysis of the microbe showed that its cell wall was composwd of chitin . Provide a final assessment of the pathogen's microbial type based upon all of these evidence

Answer #1

Answer: - During the preliminary analysis when the presence of cells containing cell wall is observed in a patient, it usually means that the infection can be caused by either a gram-positive bacteria or fungal or algal infection, as all of these organisms contain the cell wall.

When the further analysis is done that shows that it contains a nucleus and an 80S ribosome we can conclude that it is a eukaryotic organism and out of the three microorganisms above it can be inferred that this might be a fungal infection.

When the final biochemical analysis of the microbe shows that its cell wall was composed of chitin then it can be said for sure that the infection causing organism, in this case, is a fungus as the cell wall of fungi is composed of chitin.
