Explain what would happen to Wnt Signaling (when Wnt is present) with a mutant LRP protein that lacked its hydrophobic membrane-spanning domain.
Answer --
In the wnt signalling pathway once the wnt singnal binds to frizzeld receptor LRP co- receptor .than LRP receptor are active and it binds SK3, CK1, AXIN, and complex is dissemble and beeta catanin are free that move to nucleus. That activate cell cycle. But in case of mutant LRP Protein it does not bind to the complex (GSK3, CK1, AXIN etc) . In this case beeta catanin is phosphorylated by the complex leading to proteosomal degradation results cell cycle is repressed.
