1) Tears are important to maintain the moisture & health of the eyes. The lacrimal glands within the eyelids produces tears. The excess tears is what that gets drained into the nasolacrimal duct from the eyes through the upper & lower puncta, which are located at interior corner of the upper & lower eyelids. Each eye has a lacrimal gland, located above the eyes. The glands are located under the upper outer orbit. The tear produced from this region where the glands are located, flows across the eyes & drain through the punctum which is located at interior corner of the eyelids.
