A study finds that increased pollution in a lake caused two fish species to merge into a single species. Give a reasonable explanation for how pollution might have caused this change in reproductive isolation.

Increased pollution change the habitat of the lake. When the habitat change it influence the organism life cycle. In this case as pollution increase it direct the two different species into a single direction. In this direction two species change them in such a way that the break the reproductive isolation . Another reason may occur that if a change occur due to pollution it can direct a species in a direction that another species is already in this direction . So the two species move in same direction and break reproductive isolation.
