Answer #1

Answer:- SCOP database is the short for "Structural classification of protein database". SCOP was created in 1994 in the MRC center for protein engineering at Cambridge, England. This database provides a detailed and comprehensive information of the relationship of known protein structures. This database has a classification for protein domains based on the similarity in their structure and amino acid sequence. This classification is hierarchical, with first two levels of family and superfamily that provide evolutionary relationship and third level describes the geomatricge relationship. So it is basically used to determine the evolutionary and geometrical relationship between two different proteins.
