Answer: Mutation is the substitution/insertion or deletion of nucleotides which resulted as change in the function of native proteins. Mutation is key factor in evolution of organism which passes through adaptation in various harsh conditions. Genetically modified organisms are organism with modified version of genes for production of some valuable products. The problem with genetically modified organisms is that they can revert their gene or properties. But the possibility of their reversion is 1 in billions. Risk of reversion in organisms modified at embryo or gamete level is very less but that risk in organism modified after birth has more risk of reversion.
