An apoenzyme is an inactive enzyme, activation of the enzyme occurs upon binding of an organic or inorganic cofactor.

Absolute specificity can be thought of as being exclusive, in which an enzyme acts upon one specific substrate. Absolute specific enzymes will only catalyze one reaction with its specific substrate. The enzyme urease catalyzes the hydrolysis of a single amide, urea.

Not all enzymes name end with "ase". Exception, some of the originally studied enzymes don't have suffix such as pepsin, rennin, and trypsin.
