They are unable to produce ATP and can't grow on artificial media , beacuse of this feature it is dependent on host biosynthetic system. In case of Viruses similiar type of mechanism found which shows that chlamydiaceae is a virus.

Chlamydiaceae have the Cell wall which carries the DNA, RNA and ribosomes. This feature makes the difference from virus. It can be differentiate into gram negative family using gram staining technique. It form the spores when transmit from person to person.
