Sensitivity and specificity are both related to the validity of the screening test , which means that the means of measuring the disease actually measures what it is suppose to measure.

the sensitivity of the screening test is that parameters which help in detecting the individual with the disease when he actually has the disease (True positives) whereas specificity of the test measure the ones without the disease (it measures True negatives ), with the amalgamation of the two, we can find out about the validity.
