For the safety and security of the patients, sterilization of materials is important. Failing on this or improper autoclaved materials will have the following effects:
A. Spread of infections
It can easily heighten the risk of infection by exposing specific
body parts to bacteria if at any time there are unidentified
substances on the surgical instruments or hospital equipments.
B. Spread of diseases
If all equipment sterilization isn’t done properly after they are
used for a different task, it makes it very easy for diseases to
spread from one patient to another. Examples: AIDS, HIV, hepatitis,
and sadly much more as well.
C. Mortal danger
Contaminated equipments and other clinical materials if not
properly steam sterilized can make infections in patients and
serious infections can in some cases lead to the death of
patients.
