During photosynthesis green plants capture solar radiation and with the help of water ,carbon dioxide and minerals forms energy rich organic compounds and oxygen.

Or, in simple words we can say it is the process by which green plants makes their own food by the use of carbon dioxide and water ,in the presence of sun light.
