Smallpox vaccines induce robust T and B cell reponses that target a wide array of viral and provide cross protective immunity against important human pathogens such as virbola and monkey pox.The host cell death occurs as a result of having excessive amounts of viral mRNA ,which reduces the ability the host cell in conducting its own transcription and production of normal proteins.The variola virus is able to survive mainly by evading the immune response through several virulence factors.Measles not only weakens our immune system in the short term,bouts with the virud seem to wipe immune system's memory ,causing the body to forget hw to fight off things that you may have already conquered.so it is called immune amnesia may linger for months to years after infection.This is how they were immunologically affected by both the diseases.
